Originally formed as a contest band at the Mt. Airy Fiddlers' Convention in June of 2004, the Forge Mountain Diggers quickly realized that they were on to something good.
Made up of former Freight Hoppers fiddler David Bass (fiddle), original Hogwaller Ramblers' guitar/mandolin/bass player Thomas Bailey (guitar and vocals) and the Milkcrate Rustlers' Allison Williams (banjo and vocals), they have set out on a mission to put the "HELL YEAH" back in Old Time music, in the classic traditions of the Skillet Lickers, the Roan Mountain Hilltoppers, Earl Johnson's Clodhoppers, & the Coon Creek Girls. With a background in the DIY punk scene, the Diggers put their personal firebrand on the music.
